In the southern part of Russia there is a huge population of Islamic people. There is an estimated 20-25 million Muslims (approx. 10-15%) in Russia right now. Because most of the Russian population is extremely religious, there is bound to be some tension. Also, because believers of the Eastern Orthodox faith are so set on their beliefs, there is also religious tension between Jews in Russia.

3) To what extent does religion play a role in your countries culture?
Since there is a large amount of people who are part of the Eastern Orthodox faith, Russian culture has been somewhat affected by the religion.

4) What role does Sharia play in your country?
There is a large population of Muslims in Russia. They practice Sharia however, it doesn’t directly affect the government.
